Thank you to Olympia Federal Savings for their community leadership. Oly Fed is our first ever Youth of the Year Sponsor in 2009.   The Youth of the Year Program is our premiere character and leadership development initiative -- celebrating a new Club Member every month at each of our three Clubs. These members, and Olympia Federal Savings, represent the best that the Clubs have to offer. Thanks Oly Fed!
 We are happy to announce that Danny Jones, from our Tumwater Branch has been named our 2009 Youth of the Year. Danny is a senior at After graduation this June, Danny will join the US Marine Corps and ultimately plans to go to college. He hopes gain his degree in business with a specialization in the culinary arts – and to someday own a restaurant or catering business. Danny is the oldest of 7 children, and is an excellent role model for his younger siblings and the entire Boys & Girls Club community.
Congratulations Danny. We're all proud of you! The Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County meets Africa!
A former Boys & Girls Clubs Executive Director of Traverse City, Michigan was on a volunteer mission with Rotary International immunizing children against polio. She came across this boy in a remote village in Nigeria wearing a Summer Camp t-shirt from Thurston County 2004.
