Club Kids Rise & Shine at the 2021 Foundation for the Future Breakfast

Club supporters and friends tuned in May 13, 2021 to Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County’s annual Foundation for the Future breakfast fundraiser as Club youth and teen hosted Rise & Shine Thurston County, a BGCTC News production. This year’s annual event was unlike any other. Not only was the event presented in hybrid format with online and in-person viewing options, youth and teens from several Branch locations provided the program content.

The program can be viewed below:

Incredibly talented Club kids and teens hosted an entertaining morning news show, highlighting talented Club members and raising awareness about the positive impact Clubs have on the lives of local kids, teens, and their families. In addition, CEO Chris Woods presented BGCTC’s 2021 Governor’s Leadership Award for Youth to The Bruno & Evelynne Betti Foundation as a way to honor their generosity. Read more about the long-lasting impact the Bettis have on communities and organizations throughout  Thurston County.

While the program was virtual, limited seating for in-person viewing parties was offered at several Branch locations. Those attending in-person events were greeted by smiling, excited Club kids and staff, coffee and breakfast. Club kids proudly offered tours of their Club.

COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines affected the event format but the focus remained the same. The event supports nearly 3,000 youth who benefit annually from the programs, services, and mentorships provided by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County.

Generous local sponsors and donor supporting the Clubs are vital to inspiring and enabling youth to realize their greatness. This program and event was possible because of the generous contributions of our Sustaining Partners Olympia Federal Savings, the Stars Foundation and the Bruno & Evelyne Betti Foundation as well as Title Sponsors TBG Holdings and the Chehalis Tribe.
